The Solution
Relevant bar-codes could be setup and printed from the DataLynx system to
identify the production lines, the shift and the operations (or not as the case
may be).
The operators could first scan the production line bar-code followed by the Shift bar-code. From this point a bar-code could be scanned each time operation changed. Each scan automatically picked up a time and date stamp in order to log the duration of the operation. Also, a quantity of one was automatically entered in order to collect the frequency of the operation.
Outcome
The analysis reports could show precisely how often production stopped and the
reason for the stoppage. By addressing this problem production tasks could be
re-jigged, so improving downtime and lowering production cost and increasing
output.
